Setšong Tea Crafters is passionate about exposing indigenous produce. Why is that?
The products exposed by Setšong are the result of a 14-year mission towards socio-economic development within the rural areas of Southern African.
Furthermore, the last few years of the 14-year journey embarked include discoveries made in the rural areas of Limpopo. One of these discoveries being the phenomenon of Tepane Tea!
This tea has been consumed for centuries by the Bapedi people – one of the major Sotho groups of South Africa. The Pedi area, or heartland, is known as Sekhukhuneland and is situated between the Olifants and Steelpoort Rivers, which are also known as the Lepelle and the Tubatse. The area is named after Sekhukhune I, the son of Sekwati.
Most of all, this exciting new tea has been tested to contain high levels of Anti-oxidants, Vitamin A, C, E, and Zinc, providing the following health benefits which improve the overall quality of life :
- Vitamin A: plays a critical role in maintaining healthy vision, neurological function, healthy skin, and more. Vitamin A – like all antioxidants- is involved in reducing inflammation through fighting free radical damage. Consuming a diet high in antioxidants is a way to naturally slow aging. Antioxidants like Vitamin A are also responsible for building strong bones, regulating gene regulation, and maintaining healthy clear skin.
- Vitamin C: provides protection against immune system deficiencies, cardiovascular disease, prenatal health problems, eye disease, and skin wrinkling.
- Vitamin E: balances cholesterol, fights free radicals, prevents disease development, repairs damaged skin, thickens hair, balances hormones, and helps PMS symptoms
- Zinc: enables hormone repair; improves immunity and facilitates digestion. Furthermore, zinc benefits also include its ability to act as an anti-inflammatory agent. It has significant therapeutic benefits for common, chronic diseases like fighting cancer or reversing heart disease.
