Artemisia Afra or African Wormwood also referred to as Lengana in Sesotho and Umhlonyane in SiZulu is one of South Africa’s most well-known Indigenous Teas.

Artemisia Brewing instructions:
Add 1 tbl. spoon of tea leaves into a 1L teapot, pour in hot water, and steep for 3-5 minutes depending on required strength. When the tea is ready, pour it into your teacup through a mesh kitchen strainer or slotted spoon to keep tea leaves out.
Add honey or sugar to taste.
Artemisia tea should not be consumed as medicine for periods of time longer than three to four weeks. Even during the therapeutic period, you must be careful not to overuse wormwood.
